Engaging in classified discussions without need is a significant behavioral indicator that someone might pose an insider threat. This behavior suggests that the individual is potentially mishandling sensitive information, which raises concerns about data security and compliance with organizational policies. Such discussions could point to unauthorized sharing of confidential information, indicative of a lack of respect for security protocols. This behavior not only undermines trust but can also lead to potential leaks of sensitive data, which pose risks to the organization's integrity and security.

In contrast, openly sharing information with peers is generally viewed as a collaborative practice unless it crosses boundaries set by security policies. Compliance with security regulations directly indicates a person's commitment to maintaining the organization's security posture. Participating in team strategy meetings is typically a standard part of professional engagement and does not suggest any threat unless those discussions stray into inappropriate topics or involve sensitive information without proper clearance.
